We accept applications through the Electronic Residency Applications Service (ERAS) and participate in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) Fellowship Medicine and Pediatric Specialties Match. Your ERAS application should include the following:
ERAS common application form
Current CV
Personal Statement
Three letters of recommendation
Note: Applicants to the CCCM/IVC Dual-Track Pathway must include two Interventional-specific letters of recommendation as a part of their application (may be included in the three LORs for CCCM, or in addition).
Medical school transcripts
USMLE and/or COMLEX transcript
ECFMG certificate (if applicable)
Documentation of successful completion of a 2-3 year fellowship in an internal medicine subspecialty*
If fellowship program is still in progress, a letter of good standing including anticipated graduation date from your Program Director will meet this requirement
Our program is participating in program signaling during this year's recruitment season. While we preferentially review applications from those who signal our program, we will also consider applicants who do not signal us. The use of signaling by applicants local to the Twin Cities will be reviewed similarly.
Completion or anticipated completion of an ACGME-accredited (U.S.) Internal Medicine or Med-Peds residency program
Completion or anticipated completion of an ACGME-accredited (U.S.) two- or three-year fellowship in an Internal Medicine subspecialty program*
Note: to be eligible for the Cardiac Critical Care Medicine track completion or anticipated completion, of an ACGME-accredited (US) three-year fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease is required
Passed USMLE Steps 1, 2, and 3 OR COMLEX Levels 1, 2, and 3
U.S. citizenship, permanent resident status, or J-1 visa status. We are unable to support H-1b at this time.
*Please note, our program only considers applicants who have completed a 2-3 year fellowship in an internal medicine subspecialty and are eligible for appointment at the F2 level per the ACMGE Program Requirements for Graduate Medical Education in Critical Care Medicine, section 3.2.a.

Please note: dates will be designated as Cardiac Critical Care interview days or General Critical Care days based upon faculty availability and the applicant pools. These will be determined prior to interview invitations being sent out. In addition 1-3 dates will have availability for those applicants interested in interviewing for one of our dual-track pathways. These dates will not be limited to dual-track applicants, but if you are interested in a dual-track pathway, please plan to schedule into one of these dates.
