Activity slows down on campus in the summer, but tours are hitting their peak. At the front of every tour group, a guide makes or breaks the experience for visitors.
University of Minnesota tour guides are current or previous students who chose to give back to their campus. Tours run Monday through Friday with morning and afternoon sessions year-round.
These guides take future students and their families on tours of campus landmarks and additionally share their experiences as a UMN student. Thomas Ahlstrom, a transfer student, shared why he chose to apply for this position.
“I kinda heard horror stories (from my parents),” Ahlstrom said. “I was a little intimidated, but I had a polar opposite experience.”
Campus tours are available for future freshman and potential transfer students. For more information, contact the university’s Office of Admissions.
