The goal of every search is to have an inclusive, efficient search process that results in hiring the best qualified candidate. There are three overarching activities in the University's hiring process: Prep & Post, Review & Interview, and Offer & Conclusion. Each section has foundational guiding protocols, exact steps to take, and helpful resources critical to an effective search and selection.
We have highlighted some of the key steps and resources, but please review the documents below for specific, detailed instruction all searches are expected to follow.

Before you recruit for an open position (including existing positions), partner with your department administrator and HR to ensure the opening most effectively addresses your current and future needs.

All Search committee members are required to complete the following steps in order to participate in a search. They must be completed prior to reviewing applicants and interacting with candidates.

Complete Implicit Bias Training
Read the Search Committee Confidentiality Summary and complete/sign the Confidentiality and Implicit Bias Training Acknowledgment and send to the Search Committee Chair
All hiring managers are required to complete the following steps:
Review and follow the steps outlined on the Hiring Process pages: Prep & Post, Review & Interview, and Offer & Conclusion
Have all Search Committee members complete all required steps under the Search Committees heading above

Collect signed Confidentiality and Implicit Bias Training Acknowledgments from Search Committee Members
Submit all relevant documents to include in the search file on the Search File Submission page.
