PREPSS has three key programs aimed at strengthening capacity for health research and improving equity in academic publishing.
We portray our core services as a tree: Author Training (the branches), Peer Reviewer Training (the trunk), and Train-the-Trainers (the roots).

Through our Author Training program, PREPSS provides writing and manuscript development support services to authors who are part of large, grant-funded research projects. Authors receive intensive, onsite or virtual training in writing and publishing and multiple rounds of scientific peer review for their manuscript. We aim to help authors get in-the-door at peer reviewed journals.
Our Peer Reviewer training program provides participants with the knowledge and skills to become an effective peer reviewer. Participants who complete the peer reviewer training program join our network of over 150 PREPSS peer reviewers who provide high-quality peer review support to PREPSS-supported authors around the world.
The PREPSS Train-the-Trainers program is offered to universities, governments, and other institutions to strengthen the capacity of instructors who teach scientific writing in the classroom and those who mentor students individually. The Train-the-Trainers program promotes sustainability and allows the PREPSS mission to spread beyond those who we serve directly.
