Artifact EDC 476: Parent involvement discussion
It is extremely important for parents to be involved with their children’s educational life. However, there are many roadblocks that take place that prevent parents from being able to attend school functions, and parent teacher conferences.
This discussion focuses on the roadblocks that parents encounter when they are trying to be a part of their children’s educational life, as well as effective ways in which teachers can encourage parents to support their children’s literacy development and be involved in their children’s educational journey.
I think this is extremely important for educators to know. Educators should try to think of ways to encourage parents to participate in school functions, and be able to help their children learn more when it comes to other school topics and not just literacy development.
