The Infection Control Department at Universiti Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC) recently conducted a Hand Hygiene Walkabout Campaign, demonstrating their commitment to enhancing patient safety and infection prevention. During this campaign, infection control nurses and specialists visited various wards throughout the hospital to engage with patients and educate them on the importance of proper hand hygiene.
The team provided information on effective handwashing techniques, emphasized the critical role hand hygiene plays in preventing the spread of infections, and answered patients' questions. By directly interacting with patients in their wards, the campaign fostered a deeper understanding and encouraged adherence to hand hygiene practices. This initiative is part of UMMC’s ongoing efforts to promote health and safety within the hospital community.
