In our quest to make our competitions simple to setup, easy to coordinate and great to participate in, we love to hear suggestions on ways to improve. Below are suggestions from our coordinators, participants and volunteers that we have acted upon and what we have done to improve our competitions.
We did just that! Here is a link to our new PDF Quick Start Guide!
This can be printed and used on and around Competition Days. Just make sure you have the newest version downloaded!
You can now order yourself a Competition Poster for this year. These posters are completely free for your school (please only order 1 per school), or you can download as many as you like!
We have a phone line that is open 2 days before the Competition, during the Competition and then the day after. The number is 0113 365 0902.
We now have this information on a pop up on our website during competition days, at the front of the Competition Handbook and in our email signature.
From the academic year of 2025-2026, the follow-on round information will now be showcased on your results spreadsheet, so it will be super easy to see who has qualified for the next round!
Additionally, any medal information for Olympiads will also be on the results spreadsheets.
Some suggestions take a long time to implement, though worth the wait. Here's some upcoming improvements to look forward to that are in progress! If you would like to suggest a way we can improve, please take a look below to see if it's already in progress.
We are working with our developers on having a 'Sort' button for the Certificates. Hopefully soon, you will be able to reorder the certificates in a few different ways, including alphabetically, year group or based on the Optional Column
We are currently working on a 'Letter for Parents' which explains what UKMT do and who we are. You will be able to send this to parents and hopefully it will answer any questions they have!
(If this does not answer their question, feel free to ask them to email us at enquiry@ukmt.org.uk)
Unfortunately due to various constraints, some changes are not possible at the moment, but may be possible in the future.
To help avoid repeat suggestions that have already been investigated, we've detailed these below, alongside the reasons why they cannot change at the moment.
At the moment, 14MB is the maximum size of upload that our system can facilitate, for bandwidth reasons
Top tip: to scan more sheets in one go, change your scanner settings to black and white instead of colour.
