Pembiayaan Yuran Penerbitan Artikel (PYPA)

1. Applications can only be submitted by permanent and contract academic staff from all branches with active status and who are the sole corresponding author of the journal article. 

2. For articles with more than one corresponding author (other than UiTM) approval and funding rates are subject to discretion (Refer to Appendix A) and available allocation. 

3. Applicants must verify the indexing status of the journal in Journal Citation Reports (JCR), Web of Science (WoS), and Scopus through the following links: https://mjl.clarivate.com/search-results and https://www.elsevier.com/solutions/scopus/how-scopus-works/content respectively and must not be associated with predatory publishing practices (refer to the PTAR Guidelines on Predatory Publishers and Beall’s List of predatory journals and publishers). Verification can be done by submitting the review results to ueprmc@uitm.edu.my. 

4. Articles considered for PYPA must not be funded by any other sources. Applicants with active and available research grants must fully utilize the remaining funds before submitting an application. Applicants are not eligible to apply for PYPA if the acknowledgement/funding section of the article cites a research grant that is unrelated to the content of the article. 

5. Applicants are prohibited from making repeated claims within PTJ. 

6. The maximum publication fee covered is RM2,000.00 only. 

7. There is no limit to the number of articles covered for each applicant. 

8. Funding will only be approved for journal publishers. Funding for third parties (e.g., conference organizers) will not be approved. Other charges, such as proofreading services, are not covered under PYPA. 

9. If the journal offers a free publishing option (subscription-based access), the applicant is not eligible to apply for PYPA solely to cover the publication fee for open access. 

10. Applicants must make the payment to the publisher first and then claim reimbursement from RMC UiTM. 

11. Applicants must complete the PYPA application form (RMC/UEP/3/1/2020) and submit the following supporting documents, which have been reviewed and verified by PTJ: 

• Payment receipt (original copy). 

• Verification of article indexing in the PRIMe system and UiTM Expert. 

• Account statement clearly showing the transaction of the publication fee payment. 

12. The completed application that is verified by PTJ must be submitted to the PYPA submission system (https://forms.gle/uMSEHH9M1ddGnxdPA) for the payment process. 

13. The article processing fee is a charge imposed before the acceptance decision of a manuscript is made and is not covered by RMC UiTM. 

14. The submission of articles to publishers and the publication process will be monitored by the respective PTJ. 

15. Journal articles published by MDPI, Frontiers, and Hindawi are not covered under PYPA funding.
