The Malaysia Research Assessment Instrument (MyRA®) is a tool that measures research excellence through an analysis system based on the Input-Process-Output (IPO) model, as well as the outcomes and impact of Research, Development, Commercialization and Innovation (RDC&I) in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in Malaysia. The declared data must encompass all inputs from institutional management and outputs from all active academic staff, even if the maximum number (surpassing the benchmark) in the evaluated section or subsection has been reached. A comprehensive and complete collection of RDC&I data from each HEI is crucial in assisting both the Institution’s Top Management and the Ministry in formulating the direction and policies for Higher Education in Malaysia.
Instrumen MyRA mengandungi tujuh (7) seksyen:
⚫ Seksyen A - Maklumat Umum
⚫ Seksyen B - Kuantiti dan Kualiti Penyelidik
⚫ Seksyen C - Kuantiti dan Kualiti Penyelidikan
⚫ Seksyen D - Kuantiti dan Kualiti Pasca Siswazah
⚫ Seksyen E - Inovasi
⚫ Seksyen F - Khidmat Profesional dan Hadiah

MyRA data reporting is conducted four (4) times a year, as shown in the table.
The following is the breakdown of the MyRA score. The data to be collected through this website only covers parts of Sections B, C, F and G. Meanwhile, data for other sections is obtained through systems developed by UiTM, such as; Prisma (publication records), SIMS (postgraduate student data), iCONS (consultation records), iRMIs (research grant records) and others. Lecturers are encouraged to update the relevant data in these systems regularly.
