Unit MyRA, Entiti Kecemerlangan (EK) & Inovasi responsible for carrying out three (3) main functions as follows:

1. Managing all research data, MyRA reporting and KPK performance reporting. 

2. Overseeing matters related to the Entiti Kecemerlangan (EK) associated with KPK, particularly the Research Initiative Group (RIG), Research Group (RG) and Centre of Excellence (CoE) at UiTM. 

3. Managing innovation and commercialization affairs conducted by UiTM researchers. 

 💽Function 1: Research Data Management, MyRA, and Research Performance 

This unit manages the process of collecting, analyzing, reporting and verifying research data at KPK. The primary responsibility of research data management is to oversee data for the Malaysia Research Assessment (MyRA), which is utilized by the Ministry of Higher Education (MoHE) to evaluate research performance and serve as an indicator of Return on Investment (RoI) for research funding, particularly for KPK. The MyRA data collection process involves gathering research-related information from each Responsibility Center (PTJ), which is conducted four (4) times a year. The PTJs involved include the School of Electrical Engineering (PKE), School of Mechanical Engineering (PKM), School of Chemical Engineering (PKK) and School of Civil Engineering (PKA). 

This unit is also responsible for verifying and validating all data inputs using a primary checklist and supporting evidence provided by each MyRA data source. This process ensures the accuracy and reliability of the reported data, contributing to the improvement of UiTM’s MyRA score. In addition to MyRA reporting, this unit is tasked with preparing comprehensive reports on KPK’s research performance. 

💡Function 2 : Entiti Kecemerlangan (EK) Management

The Entiti Kecemerlangan (EK) is a unit or entity comprising a group of researchers actively engaged in research activities or services within a specific thrust area or interdisciplinary field. 

This unit is responsible for managing matters related to the EK associated with KPK, particularly the Research Initiative Group (RIG), Research Group (RG), and Centre of Excellence (CoE) at UiTM. Its activities include the establishment of RIGs, upgrading RIGs to RGs, updating membership records and conducting annual performance monitoring. Additionally, the unit oversees the initial appointment process for permanent and associate members of CoEs related to KPK researchers. Furthermore, it monitors the research performance of CoEs to ensure their sustainability and assess their potential for upgrading to HICoE (Higher Institution Centre of Excellence). 

🌍Function 3 : Innovation and Commercialization Management 

This unit is responsible for enhancing the visibility of KPK through innovation and commercialization activities carried out by KPK researchers. It provides resource support to increase researcher participation in the Invention, Innovation and Design Exhibition (IIDEX) organized at both the KPK and UiTM levels. 

This unit also manages the participation of KPK researchers in national and international innovation exhibitions and competitions, such as MTE, ITEX and Pecipta.
