Postdoctoral Researcher
I am a recent PhD graduate of the Papoutsakis research group, and I am now working in the Papoutsakis lab as a post doctoral scientist. My dissertation and post doc research focus on designing, characterizing and engineering microbial co-culture systems (typically involving one or more "Clostridium" organisms) for scalable carbon-negative production of fuels and chemicals via anaerobic and/or microaerobic fermentation.
Prior to joining the Papoutsakis research group at the University of Delaware, I completed my B.S. in Chemical Engineering at the Pennsylvania State University (University Park campus). During my time at Penn State, I completed 4 years of undergraduate research (including 3 full summers) focused on making biofuels from algae in the lab of Professor Wayne Curtis (a former classmate of Professor Papoutsakis at Purdue).
