UCSC’s Center For Innovation and Entreprenurial Development (CIED) offers the NSF Innovation Corps summer program "Summer & Startup Enrepreneurship Academy (SEA)." This 8-week program involves two day-long classes, followed by online webinars, and weekly office hours with faculty mentors.

Santa Cruz Startup Sandbox hosts a variety of events of interest to novice entrepreneurs.

QB3 Entrepreneurship seminars are held on the UCSF campus (currently online), are open to UCSC postdocs, and cover a large variety of topics important to life science entrepreneurs.

Scientific Leadership and Management training (UCSF) offers a 16-hour training course for people who are about to lead research groups in an academic environment. Acceptance into this course requires a competitive application.

The candidate will also have opportunities to develop additional courses that enhance our curriculum. The teaching commitment is approximately 12 contact hours per week. The successful candidate will also be expected to develop an active research program involving undergraduate students, provide academic advising to students (in collaboration with Advising, Retention, and Career Center) and engage in service to the Department, College, University, profession and/or community. Medical College of Wisconsin - Assistant Professor - Pharmacology and Toxicology

The Medical College of Wisconsin is poised to launch a new integrated curriculum in 2023. Additionally, the Department of Pharmacology & Toxicology has committed to strategically enhancing its contribution to graduate education at MCW. This faculty member will play a critical role in supporting these efforts, in addition to designing new courses/lectures and delivering pharmacology-specific content to medical and graduate students. The faculty member will work with an interdisciplinary team of biomedical scientists and clinicians to develop novel interactive medical educational and curricular materials. These will include but not be limited to the development of didactic and interactive team-based learning activities related to foundational principles of pharmacology, systems-based drug therapeutics and pharmacogenomics. The faculty member will also develop interprofessional collaborations to advance understanding of pharmacology and the effect of drugs in a variety of patient populations for students in different healthcare professional programs. Additionally, the faculty member will work collaboratively to support graduate student and post-doc education and training efforts through didactic instruction and program/curriculum development.  

The faculty member will have the opportunity for membership in MCW’s Robert D. and Patricia E. Kern Institute for the Transformation of Medical Education, through which they will work within a vibrant, highly collaborative, and interdisciplinary culture of teaching scholars dedicated to supporting medical education at MCW.

While the start date for the position is flexible, the preferred start date is April 1st, 2023. Successful applicants will have an M.D./D.O. or a Ph.D. in a biomedical discipline, preferably pharmacology and experience teaching pharmacology or related content in a higher education setting.

University of Washington - Assistant Teaching Professor in Physiology (2 positions)

The Department of Biology is currently searching for two 100%-FTE, non-tenured 9 month teaching track Assistant Teaching Professor in Physiology. The anticipated start date is September 16, 2023. Successful candidates are expected to contribute to teaching efforts in the area of Physiology, broadly defined. This position will be expected to use modern techniques to probe physiological systems in models including animals, plants, fungi and/or microorganisms, and to study these models using quantitative and modeling approaches.
