Sponsored mentoring opportunities for Postdocs
IRACDA: 4-year fellowship to conduct research (75%) and career development (25%), which includes faculty-supported mentoring and teaching at CSUMB, our HSI partner institution. Grant writing, leadership, pedagogy workshops etc are also part of this program.
GAIN: 25% postdoc salary for 4 months to work with CSUMB professors to mentor underrepresented CSUMB STEM students during the semester (2-4 hours/week) and for 8 weeks at UCSC to engage in laboratory research.
Sponsored mentoring opportunities for Graduate Students
DDI: 1 quarter of GSR support to engage with CSU students (one visit at a nearby CSU and one return visit for a “shadow” day, to engage with local SACNAS or NSBE chapters and attend a URM-targeted meeting to create networking opportunities.
DDI - family science weekend: 1 quarter of GSR support to help plan a sponsored summer weekend family visit for graduate student’s families to better support “their” student by sharing the excitement of graduate school.
