Faculty mentoring training
UCSC-internal opportunities
Our Center for Innovative Teaching and Learning (CITL) offers a number of faculty training opportunities.
CITL also offers mentoring training upon request. Please see their calendar if a training is offered in your department.
If there is enough interest, we can also schedule on of the offered workshops for IRACDA/CIRM program mentors.
UC Learning Center offers a large variety of training, some of which applies to mentoring (for example training on preventing bias, aggressions, DEI, conflict management, etc.)
UCSC-external opportunities
NIH- Office of Intramural Training and Education (OITE): There are also classes for extramural faculty.
National Research Mentoring Network (NRMN): They have remote seminars on their event calendar and in-person training for a group can be arranged if there is enough interest (please let us know at ibsc@ucsc.edu).
CIMR (Center for the Improvement of Mentored Experience in Research)
Training that can be arranged by the IBSC if there is enough interest (please let us know at ibsc@ucsc.edu).

This website offers a lot of written resources for mentors.
Any mentoring training for mentors of Gilliam fellows is appropriate for training requirements for CIMR and IRACDA mentors.
