The experimental videos of the microcolumn running showed ideal scenarios in terms of how the components are separated. However, we don't know how successful the separation was until we analyze each fraction via TLC. These results will help us make the next step (isolate), and provide insight on how to improve next time!
ASP, ACE, and CAF are colorless under visible light (~400-700nm), but since the molecules have conjugated pi systems, these compounds will absorb UV light (~200-400nm). The spots are circled on the TLC plate to help calculate retention factor (Rf) values.
