What is the Eco Schools project?

Eco Schools is a programme that awards schools for being environmentally friendly. Its aim is to encourage sustainability through a series of awards. Schools have to complete assessments based on the categories of biodiversity, transport, energy and waste. All the assessments which Green Impact UCS have completed can be found on this website - just click the dropdown arrow next to the eco schools page and you will find them alongside information about each group individually.

You can visit their website at https://www.eco-schools.org.uk/

We have been awarded the Eco Schools green flag!

The Senior School ha been awarded the Eco-Schools 'Green Flag with Distinction'. The Eco-Schools Green Flag (run by Keep Britain Tidy) is an international accreditation which rewards young people's environmental actions. During the year long process, students must complete and evidence seven detailed steps (including writing an environmental review and action plan), and achieve 100/100 marks to be awarded the Green Flag. The Senior School students met the criteria with overwhelming success and were awarded a further 84 points to achieve the Green Flag with Distinction. This is a huge achievement for all students, staff and parents involved and is a reflection of everyone's continued hard work in school and in the local community. Well done and thank you to all of those involved who have enabled us to achieve this recognition.
