The video examples are from the School of Education, CSU Chico. https://www.csuchico.edu/soe/co-teaching.shtml

One Teach/One Observe - This example offers a great strategy for student teachers to use at the very beginning of their placement.

Activities:

After viewing the video on One Teach/One Observe, use the first link below to access a form designed to help your student teacher observe student thinking/actions. The second item listed below is a link to a form that is designed to focus your student teacher's attention on the particular instructional practices you are implementing. Both forms can also be used effectively by the lead teacher (see suggestions on the form).

One Teach/One Assist - This strategy is also useful in the fall when student teachers are in the classroom part-time. Student teachers can practice specific skills, offer logistical assistance (e.g., pass out papers, help with transitions), or monitor classroom interactions.

Parallel Teaching - This strategy takes advantage of having two teachers in the classroom to reduce the student-teacher ratio.

Team Teaching - This strategy is good to use at the end of the Fall quarter or the Beginning of the Winter quarter preparing the student teacher to become the lead teacher.
