In this webinar, you will see how spaces are created to incorporate translanguaging in dual language immersion classrooms while following a 90/10 or 50/50 model. Note that these spaces that are created are strategic and purposeful. They allow students to understand a new concept(s), connect them to ideas that have already been introduced in the other language, develop metalinguistic and metacognitive knowledge and most importantly, validate their home language that allows them to process information at a deeper level.

Please discuss with your student teacher what you know about translanguaging and share evidence (e.g., charts on walls, student work, oral discussions) from your classroom or brainstorm ways you plan to integrate opportunities for translanguaging to take place during certain times of the day.
