GSHIP

Graduate Student Health Insurance Plan (GSHIP)

All incoming MAT students are required to purchase and participate in the Graduate Student Health Insurance program (GSHIP) or elect to waive out. Students who have their own personal health insurance coverage may waive out of GSHIP during the waiver period. Those who successfully waive out will not be required to pay the health insurance fee. 

The GSHIP fee will be charged to each MAT student’s account. The balance will remain on the student’s account until they have waived out of GSHIP or paid the GSHIP fee ($1,481.78). If the student has not waived out of GSHIP by the end of the waiver period, Summer Session will reach out to collect payment for the GSHIP fee.
