FAFSA 

The MAT program is 14 months long so according to Financial Aid, this encompasses 2 academic years.  In order to request financial aid for the entire program, you will need to complete 2 FAFSA applications + a summer aid application. 

• 2023-2024 FAFSA for summer 2024 + additional summer aid application 

• 2024-2025 FAFSA for the remainder of the program (award offer for fall, winter and spring quarters)

2023/2024 FAFSA Instructions

Under student section your answers should be as follows:

For question #25: Will you have your first bachelor degree before 23/24?

• Answer: yes ( some of you may not have degree by then but yes will help conversion to Independent/Grad)

For question #26: What will your college grade level be when you begin 23/24?

• Answer: Continuing Graduate Professional

For question #27: What college degree or certificate will you be working on 2023-2024?

• Answer: Grad or professional degree. 

Under Dependency section, your answers should reflect the following:

For question #44 At the beginning of the 2023-2024 school year, will you be working on masters or doctorate degree?

• Answer: yes

IMPORTANT NOTE:  Regarding the changes in FAFSA 23/24 above, incoming new students from another school or currently enrolled in another school should add UCI school code 00131400 and remove your current school code before submitting change so it does not affect your current financial aid from your current school. For Current UCI students, changes can be made only after Spring 24 term to retain current awarded financial aid in UCI.
