Please note that it is our policy at MCH that it is the professional responsibility of residents and students on rotation at MCH to show up on site with your pagers turned on so you can be contacted at any time, and, of course, most importantly, when you are on call. When call schedules are sent to the switchboard, they will be contacting you via your pager as per what is on our call schedules, and they will not be contacting you via your cell for any reason.
At the MCH, if you run into any malfunctions with your pager at any time when you are on site, you can get a replacement pager at the Switchboard Department, and they will transfer your current pager number onto the new pager you have received. This service is available to you 24/7. Note, this service is available only if your pager is broken, not if you left it at home.
If you are ill and cannot make it into a shift, please inform Karen Lai and Dr Dana Rivet, as well as submit an illness request through Cally.
