7. SELECTING COURSES FOR VARIOUS CAREER PATHS
The Faculty of Law offers a broad range of courses in a wide variety of areas taught by experts in their fields. No one course is the right course to take for a particular career path, or paths, with the plural reflecting the likelihood of multiple opportunities over the length of a career. Follow your interests. Plan out what you need to take in second and third year for your own professional development, taking into account any prerequisites or corequisites and always keeping in mind the benefits of sequencing courses to ensure a foundation before taking an advanced course. Consider also including a course or two that just appeals to you. A course can surprise you by introducing you to an area of practice that you did not know existed. Ask your instructors for their advice on course selection.
