17. MAKE-UP CLASSES
When planning your timetable, note that on occasion, a class may need to be cancelled. Instructors, like students, can become ill or face other unexpected circumstances that warrant a class cancellation.
A cancelled class is made up by the holding of a make-up class. The Faculty of Law deliberately sets aside time on Tuesdays and Thursdays between noon and 2:00 pm for the scheduling of make-up classes so as to ensure that a make-up class in one course does not conflict with a student's need to attend other classes. The Tuesday/Thursday noon to 2:00 pm time period is also used for visiting speakers, organized student activities, and Law Faculty Council meetings. If the scheduling of a make-up class during the set-aside time period is not possible, an instructor may schedule a make-up class for a Friday afternoon.
It is also Faculty of Law policy that no make-up classes shall occur during the two weeks immediately prior to the commencement of final examinations in the Fall and Winter Terms.
