Cardiology is the medical subspecialty concerned with the prevention, diagnosis, management, and rehabilitation of patients with diseases of the cardiovascular system. A Cardiologist is a specialist who is an expert in the diagnosis and management of all aspects of cardiovascular disease.

The Division of Cardiology at the University of Alberta Hospital is a full-service division with expertise in a broad range of areas of clinical cardiology, including cardiac transplantation, electrophysiology, echocardiography, interventional cardiology, gene therapy at clinical trials and outcomes research.
