Section 504
Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 covers qualified students with disabilities who attend schools receiving Federal financial assistance. To be protected under Section 504, a student must be determined to:

When an evaluation is requested, a committee will be formed to determine if the child is in need of services and supports under Section 504 to receive a FAPE, as this is defined in federal law.
