The Technical Education Division of Amarillo College delivers training through contracts, grants, and open enrollment for students and industry located throughout the Texas Panhandle and the entire state. The goal is to provide students with the skills necessary to compete in today’s job market by offering programs responsive to the demands and needs of industry in the area. Three objectives guide the Technical Education Division of Amarillo College:

This website provides a wealth of resources that may be used to guide students in job searches for the summer as well as exploring careers that may last a lifetime. There are links to interest assessments, training and education requirements for the careers students find interesting, and information on how to find and keep a job. At the GetMyFuture link there are steps for completing high school, applying for apprenticeships and colleges, and researching the best education options matching the life-long career students are interested in seeking. The job listings on the site are linked to the national data base that is most current. This is a good site to be used by the professional school counselor in guidance lessons. Students and their families will find it helpful for all members of the family wishing to find career satisfaction.

An Area Health Education Center (AHEC) is a resource for students and other career seekers interested in health careers and for communities and providers who want to improve the health of their communities. West Texas AHEC is regionally supported through Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center.
