Tier 3 is a set of individual interventions and responsive practices for an even smaller set of identified students, approximately 1-5%. These students will still receive all of Tier 1 and 2, and are getting an additional layer of supports through Tier 3.
Tier 3 explanation overview (with links)
You may notice that our MTSS triangle sits on top of a plate labeled trauma informedandculturally and community responsive. A common misconception is that these are additional initiatives in our district. Instead, they are a lens in which we must filter all our systems; if a practice isn't trauma-informed, equity centered, or community and culturally responsive, it have no place in our MTSS.

Language note: students are not a Tier 1 student or a Tier 3 student. We want to shift to perople-first language. Students receive Tier 1, 2, and 3 supports.
