Topeka Public Schools strives to integrate social studies content and instruction through English Language Arts. This happen during shared reading, writing, and guided reading. Integration occurs through our core resource as well as supplemental programming such as Newsela and Discovery Education. Students also read a wide variety of texts such as historical fiction, biographies, and informative pieces to deepen their knowledge of social studies content.
