Fine Arts

Fine Arts Mission Statement

Engagement in the Fine Arts prepares students for self-discovery, creative collaboration, and inspires interaction with multiple cultures and disciplines.

Fine Arts Philosophy Statement

The Topeka USD 501 School District believes that all students deserve access to the arts as part of a well-rounded education. Education in the arts propels students to work creatively through interdisciplinary study and gain a better understanding of our diverse community. Students develop their critical thinking skills and cultivate visual and aural literacy which leads to a stronger ability to express themselves in a meaningful way. A rigorous fine arts education empowers students to think creatively, critically, and objectively to develop the whole child.
