Topeka Public Schools and the community work together to engage and prepare students to meet the highest standards of excellence in mathematics and 21st century skills. Mathematics education in Topeka Public Schools prepares students to understand and apply mathematics in the world around them. Effective mathematics teaching practices provide opportunities for students to reason logically, think abstractly, work independently and cooperatively, develop a rich mathematical language to solve problems, and utilize technology while fostering a growth mindset. The mathematics curriculum is well-defined and based upon current content and practice standards.
