Topeka Public Schools Social Studies Philosophy Statement

The Topeka Public Schools social studies program integrates the study of civics, government, economics, geography, and history to promote civic participation. The social studies program is a vital part of the TPS curriculum and strives to help young people develop critical thinking skills to make informed and reasoned decisions for the public good as citizens of a culturally diverse, democratic society in an interdependent world.
