Education and training courses designated by the Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare

This is a system under which eligible recipients who have met certain criteria specified by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW) are allowed to receive benefits equivalent to a part of the admission fee and tuition paid to a university (the amount of benefits varies depending on the eligibility for receiving benefits) upon completion of a course or concentration (to obtain a master's degree) designated by the university.

Courses designated for the General Education and Training Benefits (Ippan kyoikukunren kyufu koza 一般教育訓練給付講座)

■ How to complete the procedures for the General Education and Training Benefits System

*If you do not complete the procedures by the prescribed date, you will not be eligible for the system.

1. Please go to the nearest HelloWork office to your residence and obtain an “*Answer Form regarding Payment Requirements for the Education and Training Benefits（kyoiku kunren kyufukin sikyu yoken kaitosho 教育訓練給付金支給要件回答書）.”

(Note) For the commencement date of the course, please enter the date of admission, i.e. April 1, 2023 for spring admission/October 1, 2023 for fall admission.

2. Please submit a copy of “① Answer Form regarding Payment Requirements for the Education and Training Benefits” to the office in charge at each campus. If you are unable to submit it at the office in charge, please send it by postal mail or email the PDF data or image data of the Answer Form as an attachment to the office in charge at each campus.

[Deadline for submission] Spring admission: Saturday, April 22/Fall admission: Saturday, October 21

3. Upon the completion of a ｍaster's ｐrogram,a  “② Certificate of Completion of Education and Training” and an “③ Application for Payment of Education and Training Benefits(kyoiku kunren kyufukin sikyu shinseisho 教育訓練給付金支給申請書)” will be issued.

4. Please submit the above ② and ③ to the nearest HelloWork office to your residence.

Please complete the procedures within one month after the completion of the ｍaster's ｐrogram.Upon the completion of the procedures, the benefits will be transferred to your designated bank account.

• All courses, Graduate School of Law

• Course of Business Administration and Marketing, Course of Business, Accounting and Finance (excluding Concentration in SME Consultant Certification), Graduate School of Business Administration

• Course of Economics and Course of Public-Private Partnership (Applicable for students entering in or before the spring of 2020), Graduate School of Economics

• All courses, Graduate School of Science and Engineering

• Course of Global Innovation Studies, Graduate School of Global and Regional Studies

• Graduate School of International Tourism Management

• Graduate School of Life Sciences

• Graduate School of Social Welfare

• Graduate School of Human Life Design

• Graduate School of Welfare Social Design

• Graduate School of Information Sciences and Arts

• Graduate School of Food and Nutritional Sciences

• Graduate School of Information Networking for Innovation and Design

Courses designated for the Professional and Practical Training Benefits

■ Concentrations applicable for the Professional and Practical Training Benefits (As of April 1, 2022)

• Concentration in SME Consultant Certification, Course of Business, Accounting and Finance, Graduate School of Business Administration

• Course of Public-Private Partnership, Graduate School of Economics (applicable for students entering in and after the fall of AY2020)

Regarding the post admission procedure, please submit the “Certificate of Eligibility (jukyusikakushasho 受給資格者証)(copy)” issued by HelloWork to the office in charge at your campus by Saturday, April 23 (or Saturday, October 22 for fall admission of Course of Public-Private Partnership of Graduate School of Economics).
