How about being a Sports and/or Dance Leader?
Sports Leaders
The Sports Leadership programme requires students to set-up and run sports activities, clubs and a series of school games competitions for local primary schools and the London Youth Games, the first of which is usually a sports hall athletics competition held at Townley.
At Townley we do not necessarily look for the most able sports performers in the year group, but for confident and enthusiastic ambassadors for the school. Students are required to officiate and lead each event and therefore commitment to the programme is essential. As a leader, students will be required to attend several training sessions after school and during lunchtimes which are held at Townley and/or King Henry.
We feel that the programme is a highly rewarding experience for students and a fantastic opportunity for them to showcase the young leader’s skills they have acquired during Year 8. Students will also receive a bronze, silver, gold, or platinum award for the number of hours they complete.
