Mentoring Projects for Impact & Applied Project Development — Parul University, Vadodara
Program at a Glance
In 2024, TOOOPLE successfully delivered a 3-month NOCN(UK)-endorsed MPI and APD program in partnership with ByteXL at Parul University, Vadodara — one of India's leading technology universities. The program brought together 24 certified educator-mentors and 240 students across Computer Science disciplines, demonstrating the real-world scalability and impact of the NOCN certification framework in higher education.
What Was Delivered
Educators completed the Foundation MPI certification (Unit 400) via a structured fast-track pathway before guiding their student cohorts through the full Applied Project Development framework — from project research and initiation (Unit 100), through project development (Unit 200), to final reflection and peer evaluation (Unit 300). Mentors simultaneously progressed toward their Professional MPI Certification by completing the Practicum (Unit 500), making this a truly dual-track, mutually reinforcing program.
All sessions, documentation, and evaluations were managed systematically through Google Workspace, with TOOOPLE's dedicated program manager ensuring quality, consistency, and timely delivery throughout.
Impact on Educators
The MPI program equipped ByteXL educators with a structured, internationally recognised framework to mentor student projects with confidence. Key outcomes for educators included professional development through NOCN-certified mentoring credentials, enhanced ability to connect academic curriculum with real-world project work, strengthened student-handling and time management capabilities, and the development of a professional mentoring network that extended beyond the program's duration. Educators reported that the program encouraged meaningful self-reflection on their own career journeys, creating a genuine win-win dynamic between mentor growth and student success.
Impact on Students
Through the APD framework, students developed critical 21st-century skills including applied technology use, creative problem-solving, collaboration, industry-standard project execution, and confidence in navigating real-world challenges. Peer evaluations and industry expert assessments at the end of Unit 300 validated the quality and rigour of student outcomes. Student feedback strongly confirmed that sustained mentor engagement was instrumental in building their self-confidence and clarifying their professional direction.
