What is a Student Intervention Team?

The Student Intervention Team’s (SIT) focus is to provide a collaborative team approach to student intervention to ensure the fidelity and success of the intervention.  Here are some helpful resources to review:

WHAT FORMS ARE REQUIRED FOR THE INTERVENTION PROCESS?

Use the Student Concern Checklist prior to considering a student for Tier II intervention with the Student Intervention Team. Administrators facilitate Student Intervention Team meetings using the Campus SIT Meeting Agenda for Administrators. Documentation of SIT meetings may be maintained on the Campus SIT Documentation Form in Eduphoria (AWARE). Campuses should notify parents that their child is receiving academic or behavioral intervention annually. The Parent Notification of Intervention folder in Google features academic and behavior intervention letters in English and in Spanish.

Staff who work with students during the intervention process will complete the Student Intervention Plan in Eduphoria (AWARE) for reading, math, speech, and/or behavior intervention to document the student’s response to the intervention provided at Tier II and Tier III. Tier II Identification Charts for math, reading, and dual language for Elementary campuses are used to identify students in need of academic and/or behavior intervention or other supports. Student Intervention Plans are maintained in Eduphoria (AWARE) by teachers, specialists, or any staff member providing intervention for students. Campuses may also print the forms to place in the student’s cumulative folder, but all forms are archived in Eduphoria (AWARE) and can be uploaded or scanned directly into the online documents. These tools will guide campuses through Tomball ISD’s intervention process, and can also be found in the Campus SIT Tools folder in the district’s Google Drive.
