A. REVIVE THE TRUE CHURCH
1. The temple in the Old Testament prefigured the True Church in the New Testament (Eph 2: 21-22; Heb 8:1-2).
2. The destruction and the reconstruction of the temple in the Old Testament prefigured the downfall and revival of the church in the New Testament (Amos 9:11; Isa 58:12).
3. During the last stage of the apostolic time, the church gradually became secularized. This was likened to the church being captured to Babylon (Rev 2, 3; Matt 13:31-33).
4. When the time was fulfilled, God poured down the latter rain to revive the True Church (Jer 25:11-13; Joel 2:23, 28-31; Act 1:8).
5. The temple is to be rebuilt on the “original foundation”. This prefigured that the True Church in the end time will be revived in all aspects just like the church during the apostolic times (Gal 3:3; Eph 4:4-6):
△ Same truth (Eph 2:19-20; Gal 1:6-9)
△ Same spirit (Act 2:1-4; 11:15-16)
△ Same power (Act 1:8; 5:12-16)
△ Same holiness (Eph 5:25-17; Act 5:1-11)
6. The glory of the True Church in the end time will be greater than the one during the apostolic time (Haggai 2:9; Ezk 47:1-5).
7. Now is the time to revive the True Church, those who are the children of God should participate in this mission! (Gal 1:1-4; Isa 2:2-3)
B. FIND THE LOST ISRAELITES
1. The Lord said that the gospel should be firstly preached to the Israelites, who are the lost sheep (Matt 10:6).
2. There are many Christians today who have gone the wrong way and these are the lost sheep of Israel – sheep symbolized believers (John 21:15-17).
3. They are zealous for God and willing to sacrifice, however, they do not follow the true knowledge (Rom 10:1-3; Matt 23:15).
4. By love, Paul and Peter preached the gospel of salvation to those who were already worshiping the true God. We also have to preach the gospel of salvation with mercy, humility and meekness to the other Christians and to lead them to receive the baptism of water and spirit so that they can be in the same fold (Act 13:44-46; 10:44-47; 8:36-40; John 3:5; 10:16).
C. DELIVER THOSE WHO ARE YET TO BE SAVED
1. The Lord instructed the disciples to go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation (Act 1:8; Mk 16:15).
2. To lead the nations to turn to God from the idols (Rev 14:6-7; Act 17:22-31; I Thes 1:9).
3. To announce the coming of the day when God will judge (Rev 14:6-7; 18:1-5).
4. To exhort them to quickly believe in the Saviour and receive the salvation (Act 2:37-41; 22:16; Titus 3:5).
D. COMPLETE THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE TRUE CHURCH
△ The True Church must preach the gospel and cultivate the believers in order to reach perfection before the Lord’s coming. The aims to strive fo:
1. To preach the gospel to the whole world (Matt 24:14; Rev 10:11).
2. To lead the chosen people to be in one flock (John 10:16; Ezk 37:21-22).
3. To manifest the image of Christ (Eph 4:22-24; Rev 14:1-5).
4. To demonstrate the perfection of the Holy City (Rev 21:9-27).
5. To adorn and make ready for Christ (Rev 19:7-8).
