Establishment of the International Assembly of the True Jesus Church (IA)
God loves mankind. The Latter Rain of the Holy Spirit descended in Beiping of China from the east, and the first True Jesus Church, the Ark of Salvation during End Time, bearing the holy task of preaching the Gospel and leading people to believe in God, was established in 1917. With the Holy Spirit as guidance and miracles as evidence, the True spread very rapidly. The True Jesus Church was first established in places such as Beiping, Wuchang, and Changsha, etc.
Before the establishment of the headquarters, each church preached the Gospel in its own ways and there was a lack of coordination. The essential issues of unity and coordination were discussed at the Third National Delegates Conference in Nanjing in 1926, where central administrative agencies were established. Later on, in order to preach the Gospel more effectively, the headquarters was relocated to Shanghai. Training and literary evangelism were strengthening. The Truth was preached overseas the next years. Many churches were established in Taiwan, Hong Kong and Southeast Asia.
The headquarters was about to expand and strengthen its organization. Unfortunately, this was affected by the continuous warfare. It then lost all its connection with the churches overseas after the abrupt transition of political power (government) in Mainland China in 1949. The churches overseas were completely on their own.
Thank God, with the leadership of Taiwan GA and the communication and coordination among the GAs in different countries, the First World Delegates Conference (WDC) was held. The 2nd WDC took place in 1975 and the “International Assembly of the True Jesus Church” was established, briefly known as “IA.” The office was located in the Taiwan GA complex. The 4th WDC resolved to relocate the IA Office to southern California, USA in 1985. After the IA Bylaws were revised in 1989, International Assembly of the True Jesus Church was officially registered in California, USA. The organization structure was further amended during the 2nd Session of 7th WDC in 1999, 2nd Session of 8th WDC in 2003, and 1st Session of 10th WDC in 2009.
