I. If Someone Leaves the Church and Commites Sexual Immorality with a Non-believer of the Opposite Sex but l Later Repents, Receives the Holy Spirit and Becomes Fervent, Can This Believer Marry a Fellow Believer in the Lord?
Resolution:
If this member is married: Once someone leaves the church and has sexual relationships with a non-believer of the opposite sex, one has committed adultery (Heb 13:4) and is not permitted to remarry in the Lord.
If this member is not yet married:
(1) Having a sexual relationship before marriage means that the two have become one flesh, therefore must not marry another person.
(2) If the non-believer has left the marital relationship (for example, because of disagreement) but since then has not committed any sexual relationship with another person or has not remarried, one must not remarry (because the marital vow is still binding). If one remarries, one commits adultery (Mt 5:32).
(3) After one has repented and becomes fervent, the believer who had sexual relationships with a non-believer of the opposite sex before marriage may be remarried to another believer if the non-believer has already passed away.
(4) If the non-believer of the opposite sex has gone missing and can neither be contacted nor located, the local church council shall deal with it on a case-by-case basis.
(Above is the resolution of 2015 WDC-12, TRC: 1)
Once it has been confirmed that other party (gentile) has engaged in sexual conduct with another person, then he/she will be judged to have committed adultery. After counselling of the member, and discussion and agreement within the Church Council, then the member is able to remarry. However, the wedding cannot take place in the chapel.
II. To Request the TRC to Ratify the “Definition of Sexual Behaviors” Which Was Passed at the Australian Delegates Conference and Has Been Put into Practice in Australia.
Resolution:
Based on the teachings of the Bible, the church should teach the believers to lead a life according to the Lord’s teachings and to maintain purity:
(1) Mt 5:27-28 – “You have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.”
(2) Prov 4:23-‟Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life.”
(3) 1 Thess 4:3-5-‟For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you should abstain from sexual immorality; that each of you should know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor, not in passion of lust, like the Gentiles who do not know God.”
(4) 1 Cor 6:18-20-‟Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.”
The church should teach believers to strictly limit sexual relationships between husband and wife only:
(1) God created man and woman. He instituted marriage, in which the husband and wife shall become one flesh and bear the future generation. Sexual relationship is a blessed relationship between husband and wife. Sexual behavior is only permitted between husband and wife. The transgressor commits adultery and is an abomination to God.
(2) Oral sex, breast sex, hand job, anal sex and sexual intercourse are regarded as sexual behaviors.
(3) Having sex between a single man and a single woman is regarded as sex before marriage.
(4) Having sex with a third-party shall be judged as the sin of ‟committing adultery.”
(5) The act of having sex with a homosexual is regarded as ‟committing adultery.”
In cases where problems arise, counseling should be provided and the cases should be dealt with prudence.
III. Will the True Jesus Church face the final situation as the apostolic church?
Resolution:
The True Jesus Church is the church in the last days established by the Holy Spirit of the latter rain on the foundation of the apostolic teachings, the Lord Jesus being the chief cornerstone. The True Jesus Church preaches the complete gospel and adheres to the biblical truth. Through the Lord’s promise, the True Jesus Church will prosper and will attain perfection until the end of the world (Mt 28:20; Eph 2:19-21; Col 4:6-9; Isa 2:1-3; Hag 2:9; Ezk 47:1-12).
