I. To Unify the Basic Doctrines.
Rationale:
The Basic Doctrines of the church—Water Baptism, Foot Washing, Holy Communion, Sabbath and Baptism of the Holy Spirit—have been faithfully kept by the church since its establishment, and were confirmed and passed during the 2nd and 3rd WDCs. Recently, several believers publicly voiced their disagreement with the Basic Doctrines; thus creating doubts in the minds of the spiritually young believers.
Suggestions:
If there are any new insights concerning the five Basic Doctrines written either in Chinese or English, they are to be sent to the Truth Research Committee to be studied first.
A two-thirds majority vote must be reached in the World Delegates Conference before any of the Basic Doctrines can be amended.
Before any amendments are passed by the World Delegates Conference, they are not to be announced or published, lest the faith of the members be affected.
The resolutions of the approved proposals are to be notified to all the GAs by mail. In turn, all the GAs shall inform their local churches to observe.
Resolution: Passed.
