Log into Alma and choose Checkout Desk for your location.
Go to Fulfillment > Resource Requests > Scan in Items.
Click on the Change Item Information tab.
Use the following settings:
Change Type: Temporary
Location: Reserves
Call Number Type: leave blank
Reading List: [leave blank/choose course]
Note: If you're asked to add the course information, you can click on the list button and select the appropriate course(s). Otherwise, leave the field blank -- if the item has already been added to the course, putting in course information here will add it to the course a second time. Also, if you're adding course information here, make sure the appropriate course is selected before each individual scan.
New Barcode: leave blank
Due Back: [ask the Library Services Supervisor about the appropriate due back date]
Item Policy: Reserve Book
Call Number: leave blank
Check Requests: uncheck
Put your cursor in the Scan item barcode box and scan the item(s).
When you're finished, click the Exit button.
Place a Library Use Only sticker on the left side of the barcode sticker on the front of the item.
Add a Reserve sticker to the bottom of the spine label and cover it with a small label protector (since the Reserve stickers tend to flip off easily).
Note: It's OK if the Reserve sticker covers part of the call number. The reserves collection is small enough that it shouldn't really matter.
Once you've finished physically processing the item(s), give it/them to the library services staff for placement on the Reserves shelves behind the library services desk.
