Accessing the Files
The model number of the scanner we purchased in 2025 is OPN-2006.
The drivers and applications can be found in the Rolfing Drive at Tech Services > Shelf Reading > Opticon Scanner Files. Other files (if necessary) are available in the "Other Files" folder. (Files for the old OPN-2001 are in the "Old Files" folder.)
If you need to get the files from the manufacturer's site, they're available under "Legacy Products" at opticon.com/downloads.
Download the opticonnect_setup file and the most recent opticonnect_settings file onto your desktop.

Open the opticonnect_setup file and install Opticonnect using the default settings. When the installation is complete, the program should open automatically.
The scanner connects via Bluetooth. To establish the connection:
On the scanner, press and hold the small square button until the device begins to flash blue.
In Opticonnect, go to Manage Devices.
In the Available Scanners list, click on RolfingScanner2025.
If the connection is successful, the scanner will beep and the status will change to Connected.
You'll only need to connect the scanner to your computer once; to re-establish the Bluetooth connection, click on Pair Scanner in the main menu.

To set the program defaults, go to Settings and enter the following information
Connection options:
Auto disconnect after inactivity: 10 minutes
Scan button press time to connect: 5 seconds
Scan buton press time to disconnect: 5 seconds
Scan options:
Positive and negative barcodes: Positive barcodes
Read mode: Single read
Read time: 2 seconds
Enable trigger repeat: Disabled
Indicator options:
Enable buzzer: Enabled
Buzzer type: High-low buzzer
Buzzer duration: 50ms
Enable charging indicator: Enabled
Good read LED duration: 0.2 sec
Volume: 50%
Application settings:
Enable scan data: Enabled
Remember devices: Enabled
Connection settings: Allow multiple connections
Enable logging: Enabled
Language Settings: English
Data export settings:
Scanners selection: RolfingScanner2025 enabled

Show summed quantities: Disabled
