This week the children in Reception - Y5 had their transition afternoons. It was lovely to walk around school and see the children in their new classrooms with their new teachers. These afternoons are an excellent way for the children and adults to get to know each other and hopefully settle the nerves for September.
Yesterday year 6 performed their version of Robinhood and the Sherwood Hoodies. It was amazing - the singing, acting and dancing was a real testament to their hard work. Thank-you to all of the adults involved in the production: with special thanks to Mr Holloway and Mr Wisbey for their expert direction and production and Mrs Hawthorne for her fabulous backdrop; Mrs Bunce for her work on props and Mrs Dearne's behind the scenes work!
Thank-you to all of our families who have joined us for the final oracy end point of this academic year. The children have become so confident sharing their learning with you it has been a real joy to be in each of the classrooms and listen to how intelligently they speak.
In the main reception there is a unit which has all of our lost property. Please come to the main office before the end of term to claim any lost uniform, drinks bottles, coats and glasses. Any uniform which is left at the end of term will be washed and added to our uniform exchange or thrown away.
Please could all families in Reception and Key Stage one have a good search at home for any stray Read Write Inc reading books? We have quite a number missing from our stock which may possibly be in your home! If you find any, please ask your child to give it to their class teacher who will pass them on to Miss Brassinne.
A reminder that there will be no Big Fun Club on Friday 19th July.
All children need to be picked up from school at the end of the school day which is 2pm. If you want to book your child in for Breakfast club on the last day of term please call the school office directly.

As a parent or carer, it is your responsibility to:
Ensure their child attends every day the school is open except when a statutory reason applies.
Notify the school as soon as possible when their child has to be unexpectedly absent (e.g. sickness).
Only request leave of absence in exceptional circumstances and do so in advance.
Book any medical appointments around the school day where possible
From the 19th August the guidance about fixed penalty notices is also changing. Please see the poster below.
Please note that the front car park is for staff only. It is not for families to park in to drop their children off.
From Monday 11th July onwards the front carpark gates will be locked during pick-up (8:25- 8:50am) and at the end of the day (3:00 - 3:50pm). This is to ensure that we maintain the safety of our children and families when moving around the school site at our busiest times of the school day.
