Creating a Better World: Week 7 5/7/24

This week...

This week we have had more visits to Houghton Regis Library. All of the classes who have visited have had an excellent time looking at the books which are on offer. The library staff have explained to the children about the summer reading challenge and how to take part. Last year we won the trophy for this - it would be lovely if we could show what insatiable readers we are by winning it again!

The majority of our Year 6 children have now visited their new secondary schools. They have had a super time and are now very much ready for their new learning adventures.

Congratulations to Mr Holloway who completed his marathon run up and down Mount Snowdon - he is very grateful for all of the supportive messages and sponsorship. They really kept him going.

Events

Next week we have Oracy endpoint (dates shared last week); the year 6 production (letter sent to families); and also transition afternoons.

Transition afternoon

Next Tuesday and Wednesday (9th and 10th July) afternoon will be our transition afternoons.

The children will be finding out their new class teacher next week. During the afternoons, they will spend time in their new classrooms getting to know each other and learning what it will be like in their new year groups.

There will be an opportunity after school on Tuesday for families to get to meet the new class teachers. This will take place from 3:45pm. Please see the additional letter which has been sent to families today.

If you are attending events on Thursday 11th July please note the entry points are different. Movement to different classes with be around the outside of the building because the Year 6 production will be taking in the main hall.

Big Fun Club

A reminder that there will be no Big Fun Club on Friday 19th July. All children need to be picked up from school at the end of the school day which is 2pm. If you want to book your child in for Breakfast club on the last day of term please call the school office directly.

The Tithe Farm Way

When your child attends Tithe Farm, it is an expectation that the whole family follows the Tithe Farm Way.

There have been a number of instances recently where adults have spoken in a way which is not respectful. Please take a moment to think about how you speak to adults in school and speak to them in a manner in which you, yourself would like to be spoken to.
