Creating a Better World: Week 3
7/6/24
7/6/24
Welcome back to the final half term of this academic year! This week has been jam-packed with visits and events in school and the rest of the term is set to be the same. Please check the calendar regularly for the dates of events. There have been a few changes due to circumstances out of our control (updates below).
Thank you to the families who attended the workshop about separation anxiety which was run by the Mental Health in Schools Team (MHST). It was a really useful and informative workshop. If you missed it and require any further information, please speak with Mrs. Molloy who will be able to share resources or take a look at the website where information has been uploaded. We also ran our Year 5 Create and Learn afternoon this week - it was lovely to see families working together, practicing and learning times tables.
Yesterday, Year 6 visited Brunel university. The aim of the day was to give the children an understanding about what it would be like to go to university. The children had a fantastic day and certainly have a better understanding about what university is like and for some they have aspirations of further education!
As I write, Year 4 are on their way to the Natural History Museum in London, I am sure they will have a super day of learning ahead of them.
Please see updated dates for the remainder of the summer term. These are correct at the time of publishing but may be subject to change.
Attendance this week: 96%
Attendance this year so far: 94%
This week's attendance has been fantastic- exceeding our 96% target. It would be great if we could maintain this over the rest of this academic year.
Raffle tickets are still being given out on different days throughout the week. These tickets will go into a prize draw at the end of the academic year. There will be a selection of prizes which have been chosen by the school council.
A reminder to families that term time holiday will not be authorised and could result in a fixed penalty notice.
Thank-you to the families who have completed the family survey. It is still open for responses so if you haven't already, please do share your views - the form will close next Friday.
