It has been a short week but we have squeezed a lot in! It has been a pleasure to welcome families into school for our 'The World has Changed' Oracy Endpoints. The children have proudly spoken about their learning and enjoyed sharing more learning within their classrooms. Next week sees the start of our final cycle of the year 'Creating a Better World.'
Yesterday we had a visit from RWINc advisor, Miss Brassinne and I had the pleasure of showing her around Early Years and Key Stage 1 while the children were learning phonics. She was incredibly impressed by the teaching and learning taking place during in every group. The children clearly love learning phonics!
Year 6 have been working incredibly hard this week, squeezing in their last bits of revision ready for their SATs next week. All of the children have consistently applied themselves in their learning throughout the year and have made good progress from their starting points. We know that next week, they will do their best and would like them all to know how incredibly proud we are of them.

As usual on Monday -Thursday next week, we will be holding breakfast for Year 6. Children in Year 6 should come to the main reception from 7:45am. We will have a variety of breakfast options avaliable.
In the past, children have really enjoyed starting the day with their friends and teachers who are able to calm any last minute nerves.
For those children who do not wish to come for breakfast, they should arrive at the usual time (8:35am), ready for the tests to start at 9:00am. Please ensure all children are in school on time to ensure the smooth running of the tests.
If your child comes to school on a bike or scooter and they ride on the road (or pavement) please speak to them about being safe. Several times this week, I have witnessed (mainly Year 5 and 6 children) have near misses on the roads when riding down Tithe Farm Road and turning right into the school. Remind children to:
wear a helmet
clearly signal and hold the signal when turning
look carefully before turning
be aware of the other vehicles around them
Please also continue to ensure they walk bikes and scooters while on school premises - this includes the car park areas. There are many people moving around at the start and end of the day, and this will help prevent any potential accidents.
Thank you for your cooperation.
The end of the academic year is Friday 17th July. All children will need to be collected from school at 2:00pm. There will be no Big Fun Club on this day- please therefore make arrangements for collection.
Please wear what makes you happy and feel comfortable on Friday 15th May - no contribution required.
