It was lovely to see so many families at parents evening on Tuesday and Wednesday. If you were unable to make it for any reason, please feel free to contact school and make an appointment with the class teacher. Class teachers will also be calling those who missed appointments after half term to share how your children are getting on.
This week, you will have received a letter about our annual Public Speaking Competition. Please support your child to prepare for the heats which will take place week beginning 2nd March. Children should prepare the following:
Reception, Year 1 and 2: Recite a Nursery Rhyme or Poem
Year 3, 4, 5 and 6 : Prepare a short speech on a topic of there choice (please note power points are not used)
At Tithe Farm, we are committed to helping every child find their voice. This competition is designed to develop vital oracy skills, boost self-confidence, and help children master the art of presentation.
Gates are open for children to come into school from 8:35 - 8:45am. Please ensure that if you are arriving at this time you are taking your children through the gates. The front reception should only be used for dropping off you children if it has been agreed by the school or it is after 8:45am.
With an increasing number of families choosing not to use the gates and come in through front reception, it can make it difficult to ensure that all children enter the building safely.
If you child walks to school on their own, please speak with them about how they behave outside the school gate whilst they wait for school to begin. We have had a number of complaints about children who are using inappropriate language; not being kind to their peers and younger children; and who are being overly loud next to the Children's Centre where people are working. Children have been reminded in school and we would appreciate your support in emphasising that the Tithe Farm Way should be followed at all times whether in or outside of school.
Whole School Attendance to date: 94% 🎉
Whole school attendance target set by the DfE: at least 94%
Attendance Ted is visiting Onyx class this week - we hope he has some super adventures!
We have been so pleased to see so many of our children in school over this last half term. Consistent attendance has meant that children are thriving in their learning. We are hoping that as we move into the second half of the spring term, the winter bugs will start to ease and that those who have been unwell are able to be back in school.
We often find that attendance on the first day back after the holidays is low. Please make every effort to bring your children into school on Monday 23rd February ready to start the new half term. By being in school, on time, on the first day of the new term, families are starting as they mean to go on.
There will be raffle tickets avaliable for the children to collect every day during the first week back. The attendance raffle will be drawn just before the Easter holidays so there are plenty of opportunity to collect lots of tickets before then and have a chance of winning some amazing prizes.
A number of families who have Hotmail email accounts have reported problems with Arbor. We have raised the issue with Arbor who have investigated and come back with the below.
The issue has been identified as a filtering one, as Hotmail accounts have high spam filters. The school's email address is being identified incorrectly as spam at the receivers end and the school's email address needs to be marked as a safe sender.
Steps to Mark as Safe in Hotmail/Outlook.com:
Log in to your account at https://outlook.live.com/.
Click the Settings gear icon in the top-right corner.
Select View all Outlook settings (if applicable) or go directly to Mail.
Navigate to Junk email.
Under Safe senders and domains, click + Add.
Type the email address (e.g., sender@example.com) or the entire domain (e.g., @example.com) to allow all emails from that sender.
Click Save.
