How will items get to you? You have two options:
Ship them. You pay for shipping out of your funds. After ordering through the lending library site, create an order in Procurify for shipping charges (create two orders if ordering from both locations). If you want your order shipped to you, go to Procurify to request a shipping label and choose "Blue Ridge Academy Lending Library" for the Preferred Vendor and "Lending Library" for the Purchasing Category. Estimate the price and please note that the price of shipping will be adjusted once they have figured out all your product items.
Pick them up. After placing an order through the Lending Library ordering site and emailing them your student’s name and local ID, they will notify you when your order is ready for pick up. You can then show up anytime during their hours to pick it up - as long as you have been notified (you cannot just show up). A contact number will be posted outside of the building. Text them to let them know you are outside and they will bring your order to your car. If you would like to arrange a specific pick up time include that in your email to them.
What is available in the library?
The Lending Library is an accumulation of anything and everything students have created orders for in the past that were non-consumable. Basically, if you are thinking about ordering something, there is a good chance someone else has already ordered it and returned it to the lending library. They have novels, picture books, readers, curriculum in all subjects, games, manipulatives, music equipment (in Acton), science experiments, parent resource books, and items for different electives.
Notes/Frequently Asked Questions:
All items are free to order - just like a library. You only have to pay for shipping through Procurify if you choose that option.
Curriculum can be borrowed for the duration of the school year, and is due back before June 1st. (You can start reserving books for the next school year on July 1st.)
Students can only have 20 items checked out at a time.
There are two lending library locations (Acton and San Dimas). You are allowed to order from both places. Please keep in mind that if you select items from more than one location and choose shipping for all items, you will need to place an order in Procurify for two separate shipping charges (one fee per library). See below for instructions.
They are not able to loan out duplicates of items to one student.
Please be mindful of your students' age and choose items that are developmentally appropriate. (In other words, don’t order high school curriculum with your kindergarteners account…)
It is NOT possible to come into the lending library to browse at this time.
Whenever you put in a purchase order for a shipping label in Procurify, it is non-refundable.
How do I send library items back?
You can show up to your Lending Library without an appointment any Tuesday or Thursday from 9:00 AM to 12:00PM to drop them off. They will scan the BRA code on the item to take it off of the students account.
Where can you find a list of items you currently have on hold or loan?
On the catalog homepage near the top is a blue link that says “My Account.” You will see items that you have reserved, items that are on hold (this means the librarians have physically set your items aside for you at the library), and items that you have on loan (these are the items you have in your possession that haven’t been returned yet).
