Bill Bowerman and Phil Knight launched a brand which was initially named "Blue Ribbon Sports" in 1964. After creating some awareness for the brand, renamed the brand Nike in 1971 which followed the Nike Swoosh. The emblem for the two represented "innovation and sports brilliance." Nike focused their emphasis early on running shoes, this fueled the companies expansion. Bowerman continuously was optimizing their running shoes, and this brought a constant variety for Nike's brand. Phil and Bowerman attended Oregon University, where the company mainly sponsors their athletics with great designs and many different colors to coordinate with. Nike earily emphasized on their footwear but branched off into clothing in 1979 and took was extremely successful in it's first years in the 1980's. One of the most famous slogans "Just Do It" was created by an advertising agency in 1987 in Portland, Oregon and launched by 1988. The brand has climbed the ladders of success into today's time and is known to be one of the most favorited brands worldwide.
