The creative aspect utilized in this ad an older man is running 17 miles on the golden gate bridge as the suns coming up when normally 80 year old men find it very difficult to run for such a long time but with his Nike shoes on, he's capable of it.
A concept used in this we had learned in class is humor. An older man is asked by others how at 80 years old "how he keeps his teeth from chattering" and he replies "he keeps them in his locker."
This ad meets the values and needs of the audience because the ad is trying to get the message across that if you want to just do it. An 80-year-old man runs 17 miles every morning in his Nike running shoes. This brings that question to each audience member of what their excuse is to not do what they put their mind to and with the Nike running shoes, if you want to do something "Just Do It." like Walt from the video.
This ad speaks to ones who may not feel like they're capable, especially the men. The ones who may not be in the best of shape to exercise. This 80- year- old man does not appear to be in the best physical shape but is running 17 miles every morning. He doesn't know if his body can withstand this for long but thats a risk he is taking.
I chose this ad because it represents one of the most famous slogans ever and it was the first ad for the slogan ever made in 1988.
