Art 2

Course Description

Art 2 is an intermediate studio course for students ready to move beyond foundational skills toward greater technical refinement, experimentation, and personal voice. Students work across drawing, painting, mixed media, printmaking, and selected three-dimensional processes while developing more independent concepts and a cohesive body of work.

Course Objectives

·  Refine drawing, painting, composition, and mixed-media techniques.

·  Use the elements and principles of art in increasingly complex compositions.

·  Experiment with materials, processes, scale, and approaches to image-making.

·  Develop personal themes and make intentional artistic choices.

·  Use critique and reflection to revise work substantially.

·  Prepare a portfolio that demonstrates growth, experimentation, and emerging artistic voice.
